The brand itself is free spirited and full of colour, it is all about celebrating the the Balearic lifestyle, people coming together and having fun in the sun and I tried to create a website design that would not only emmulate these values but also showcase the high quality product.

Although Sainsbury’s have been offering energy services for many years, in 2011 they partnered with British Gas for the first time and the brand required a new identity online which I was responsible for. The formidable task involved bringing the website inline with the British Gas energy services offering, whilst maintaining the ‘available on the high street’ proposition they had established.

The source of the illustrations was an editorial shoot in the Super Super publication. “New Rave is about absurdity, comedy and randomness”

As part of the initial pitch team, I chose to focus my design on a highly visual approach, with strong navigational segments to really differentiate between the content and information being offered to visitors.

Needless to say, the concept was greatly received by The Carbon Trust, and with a few minor tweeks to the design, the site went live September that year.

A difficult brief, with the aim of designing the names of the featured artists in a form that threw out all conventional typographic rules and accepted practices.
